Institutional Research (IR) reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Planning. Institutional Research enhances and fosters the institutional effectiveness of UCSD by providing institutional research and analyses that support and strengthen decision making and planning processes on campus. IR also supports:

• Academic Senate committees
• Academic and administrative departments
• Capital Outlay and Space Advisory Committee (COSAC)
• Office of the Chancellor
• Enrollment Planning Committee
• Senior Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs (SVCAA)
• Transportation Policy Committee

• Enrollment and campus population projections
• Instructional space
• Instructional workload
