Enrollment

Enrollment refers to students who have been admitted to the university, paid fees, and enrolled in classes.

Undergraduate Enrollment

The final registration census report provides undergraduate student enrollment data for Fall, Winter and Spring terms starting from Fall 2004 through current term. Data can be filtered by school, college, department, major, types of degrees, student class level, status (new, continuing or returning.  This report is updated after the 15th day of instruction each term. Undergraduate enrollment may be viewed by clicking on the corresponding dashboard tab.

Undergraduate Degree Recipients

This dashboard provides data on of undergraduate degrees awarded to first-time first-year students and transfer students. The Degrees dashboard also provides 5-year trends, time-to-degree statistics, and GPA ranges at graduation. Data can be filtered by school, college, major department, gender, and race/ethnicity.  The report is updated in January.

Undergraduate Graduation and Retention Rates

This dashboard provides 10-year trends in graduation and retention rates for first-time first-year students and transfer students by cohort entrance year. Data can be filtered by school, college, major department, gender, and race/ethnicity. The report is updated in January.

Student Diversity

Undergraduate Students

The UC Information Center provides historical undergraduate enrollment data starting  in Fall 1999 by residency, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, country of origin, Pell grant and first generation status. Data can be filtered by student enrollment status and field of study. To see UC San Diego data, set Campus filter to ‘San Diego’ and Student Level filter to ‘Undergraduate.’

Common Data Set

Various publishers collect information each year for college guides and ranking publications (including the College Board, Thomson-Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report). Colleges and universities capture most of the requested data in this "common data set," so a standard format may be provided to all publications.
